Your body and spirit plead for independence and delicious pampering despite multiple work commitments.
The above suggests that you probably don’t treat yourself to good surfaces frequently and need some self care. All you want to do is get pampered and cuddle your pillow every night while your mind sings, “All is well,” but adulthood keeps starring at you in the face and telling you, “Pay your bills.”
Travelling far and taking vacations are fantastic ways to take care of yourself, but sometimes, all you need to do is turn on your favorite TV show and laugh non-stop, or dance wildly to an old CD of Michael Jackson music.
Below are seven (7) ways to take care of yourself on weekends that won’t require you to keep an eye on your bills.
- Learn something new (Feed your brain)
- Get creative
- Get out
- Unplug
- Have a good conversation
- Pick up a health care routine
- De-stress
Learn Something New
“Why should I be learning when I should be pampering myself?”
Learning something new gives one confidence and an odd satisfaction. Like learning a new word, at the least you’ll be ready to shock everyone with the new word over a scrabble game. Listen to your favorite podcast, practice that trendy new outfit / style online. Feed your brain, learn your favorite singer’s new song, read your favorite writer’s new collection of magazine. Read a new book, a new sermon, and dig out new facts.
Get Creative
Exercise your creativity, as this is a sweet way to self care and come up with a multi-million idea at the same time. ” I know right?” Smiles. Dig into your pile of paint, canvass boards, and paint something. Try a new recipe, sew that fashion idea in your head. Bake a cake, cookie, anything. Give your space a new look.
Get Out
If you love to take a walk and get familiar with nature, then staying outdoor will be a sweet weekend routine for you. Go flower shopping. Go to parks, gardens, the new gallery in town. Play at the beach, go hiking, visit your favorite place. …just get out there, savor the fresh air, breathe in and breathe out.
Unplug
Taking your mind off your phone an laptop can be really destressing. Try things outside your cell phone, stay away from notifications, meditate, listen to what your body and soul needs. Write in your journal, look around, and dress up.
